Materials: (1) 6″ terra cotta pot, Rice Krispies Treat recipe, icing and edible decorations
1st $60, 2nd $40, 3rd $20

Directions: Make Rice Krispie treats and place in a 6” terra cotta pot. Decorate with icing and other edible decorations to depict this year’s Fair Theme. Eg. tractor, tires, tailgate lunch, tailgate party. Use your imagination and enjoy creating.

Waffle Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup shortening or lard
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 generous tbsp sour cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 – 2 tbsp lemon peel
  • 2 – 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

Mix sugar and shortening together. Add eggs, sour cream, lemon peel and vanilla. Mix well. In another bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add to wet mixture. Mix well until moistened. Drop by spoon into hot waffle iron. Cook until golden. Store in airtight container when cooled. Enjoy!
