Cattle

Dairy Cattle

Chairperson: Emma denotter 519-796-5696

To be eligible to show, all cattle must be in place FRIDAY, August 29th by 11:00 am and remain on grounds until SUNDAY, August 31st at 4:00 pm.

All cattle displays in the barns,both dairy and beef, are invited to participate in the BEST BARN DISPLAY using the theme “Wagon Wheels to Ferris Wheels”.
A trophy will be given in memory of Janet Sobota and Karen Fox

1. Jr. Calf – March 1, 2025 or earlier
2. Int. Calf – Dec 1, 2024 – Feb 28, 2025
3. Sr. Calf – Sept 1, 2024 – Nov 30, 2024
4. Summer Yearling – Jun 1, 2024 – Aug 31, 2024
5. Jr. Yearling – Mar 1, 2024 – May 31, 2024
6. Jr. champion female … Ribbon

Beef Cattle

Entry forms to be in by Saturday, August 23rd..
(BEEF CATTLE must be in place Thursday, August 28th at 9:00 pm)
JUDGING: Friday, August 29th – 1:00 pm
ENTRY FEE: 10% deducted from prize money paid out by Agricultural Society.
PRIZES: 1st $50, 2nd $40, 3rd $30, 4th $20, 5th-10th $15

Class 10 – All Breeds Beef
(breeding program)

Each bull over 1 year of age must be secured with a ring in the nose or humbug with a chain or rope attached.
Calves shown in cow classes may be split and shown in calf classes.

beef1. Bull calf born on or after Jan. 1/25, minimum 3 months of age at time of showing
2. Bull yearling born Apr. to Dec. 2024 (junior)
3. Bull yearling born Jan. to Mar. 2024(senior)
4. Bull 2 years old
5. Champion and Reserve Champion Bull
6. Heifer calf born on or after Jan. 1/25, minimum 3 months of age at time of showing
7. Heifer yearling born Apr. to Dec. 2024 (junior)
8. Heifer yearling born Jan. to Mar. 2024 (senior)
9. Cow born in 2023 with her natural 2025 calf at foot
10. Cow born before 2023 with her natural 2025 calf at foot
11. Champion and Reserve Champion Female
12. Breeders herd – A group of four animals bred by the exhibitor, both sexes to be represented and must have been shown in previous classes. At least one animal must be owned by the exhibitor. Limit one entry per exhibitor.

Class 11 – Interbreed Market Beef Class

ENTRY FEE: 10% deducted from prize money paid out by Agricultural Society.
PRIZES: Each Class 1st $20, 2nd $15, 3rd $12, 4th-10th $10

All steers will be divided according to weight. There will only be two classes. Cattle will be weighed if scales are available; otherwise the judge will split the classes in the show ring. Market heifers are not eligible for breeding classes in the breeding program.
Exhibitor may show/enter only two animals per class.

Entry Forms will NOT be accepted after Saturday, August 23rd, 5:00pm. NO EXCEPTIONS

(Note: The Fair Board reserves the right to refuse any entry form.)

Weekend Packages: Available at Office for $30.00 (unlimited admission to the grounds for the duration of the Fair)
