Such factors as quality, arrangement, attractiveness and consumer appeal, to be considered when judged.
Originality and creativity will be prime consideration of Judge.
Limit one entry per section per person in Class 51
NOTE: NO attaching or affixing to fair building walls
1. Potatoes (can use sweet potatoes) – exhibit consists of the following: 1 – 3 litre basket, at least 2 processed items
2. Tomatoes – exhibit to consist of the following: 1 – 3 litre basket, at least 2 processed items
3. Apples – exhibit to consist of the following: 1 – 3 litre basket, at least 2 processed items
4. Eggs – exhibit to consist of the following: 1 dozen eggs, at least 2 processed items
5. Wheat – exhibit to consist of the following: 1 – litre jar, at least 1 bundle not to exceed 4” in diam., at least 4 processed items
6. Theme – Grape Expectations: at least 3 items using theme – use your imagination
7. Sunflowers – exhibit to consist of the following: bouquet of sunflowers, 1 litre sunflower seeds, at least 1 processed item
8. Corn – field or sweet – exhibit to consist of the following: 10 ears corn, at least 4 processed items
9. Milk – exhibit to consist of the following: an education display of milk, at least 5 products, one litre or quart milk container
10. Soybeans – exhibit to consist of the following: 3 stalks soybeans – roots removed, 1 litre soybeans, at least 1 processed item
11. Grapes – exhibit to consist of the following: 1 – 3 litre basket, at least 2 processed items
12. Herbs – “The Year of Yarrow” – exhibit to consist of a display of Yarrow

Class 52 – Field Crop Competition
Chairperson: David Hernandez 519-980-5323
1. Call David at 980-5323 by August 1st to participate in field crop competition.
2. All contestants to be members of the Society.
3. Contest open to all residents of Essex County.
4. Only one entry per person per section – two sections (1) Field Corn; (2) Soybeans
5. Each field entered for competition must have an easy access.
6. Must be located and marked out two weeks prior to the Fair.
7. Each field must be at least 2 Hectares. No test plot.
8. Competition must have at least 10 entries and at least 10 fields scored by judges.
9. Each entrant must display at the Harrow Fair:
- 3 stalks of corn – ear exposed, roots washed
- 3 stalks of soybeans – roots washed
10. Entry should be commercially available. Not a test plot.
11. Scoring 75% in field; 25% at fair.
